I am a Doctoral Candidate (ABD) in the Department of Political Science at Michigan State University. I have obtained graduate certificates in Chicano/Latino and Women's & Gender Studies. I obtained my B.A. in political science and philosophy (with honors) from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, and an M.A. in political science from Michigan State University.
I study American politics, specifically state and local candidates and politicians, and take an intersectional approach that examines race/ethnicity, gender and class.
I was a 2020 American Political Science Association (APSA) Minority Fellow and am a 2023-2024 recipient of the Julian Samora Endowed Scholarship. My current work has been co-published in the Washington Post’s Monkey Cage.
